EA today claimed they wished theyd focused on the wii more at the start as they werent anticipating it to blow the competition away and are to focus much more on the wii in the future. This generation has been a lesson for many companies.
there not on nintendo's level of course but at least there gaming division is doing better than the rest of the company this year. Stark contrast from last year when the gaming division was letting them down, now its other parts of teh company that are struggling.
You are WRONG and in this instance Vgchartz is right. When sony says sold they mean sold to retailers not consumers so the actual number of ps3's sold is slightly lower (just as there arent actually 20.3 million xbox in consumer hands but in retailer hands). So the gap between the xbox and ps3 as of teh end of june was 5.9 million in shipped terms. This doesnt neccesarily mean that ps3 is 5.9 million behind but its there or there abouts. last generation the gc and ps2 coped with many things going on the screen, i'm sure the wii will be fine. People really underestimate it.
If you compare each region from launch its about 7 million behind and this will only increase as in 10 weeks or so the ps2 sales begin to explode moving even further away from teh ps3.
This isn't to dig at the ps3 its just the truth. The ps3 is selling very well considering its appaling start and has control of almost every market already over teh xbox except the US and the UK. Maybe with some traction like we've seen in June it can gun for the xbox in these markets too.

Well done theyve realised the demand for the 80 gig but failed to realise why. Why take out the extra features!? The 80 gig at this price has so much potential but then they go and gimp the hardware meaning people may once again by deterred form the lack of bc in the future. I know what there doing there trying to gain more sales on the PSN for ps2 games and I dont like it. Its not fair to your loyal customers sony!

Its being released on the same day in Europe and the US, but its exclusive to the ps3 in Japan where the game will likely be released first. So the only ps owners that will see it first are the japanese ones.

as the wii is printing money whilst the ps3 is trying to put sony in the hole. I can guarantee you that if sony could take things back to 2005 they'd go down the route of the wii more. And microsoft for that matter!

Ps3=gamecube sales -- will sell abit more
Xbox 360= xbox -- will again sell slightly more.

Im not talking about the ability of blu ray of course its superior im talking about the sales its cost sony because of its costly inclusion. The average consumer won't base a decision on whether to buy the ps3 on whether 50 or 100 more cars can be fitted onto the disk but they base it first and foremost on the price they will have to pay. Its simple economics - the market is much smaller at the price tag sony is currently charging than if it were cheaper and blu ray is one of the major reason...

They were too arrogant at the start. They included stuff the general consumer doesn't care about in the blu ray drive which greatly increased the cost and the price of the ps3. A cheaper ps3 from the strat would have allowed sony to brush past microsoft much easier than the little bit here and there. Its obvious consumers see more value in the ps3 as its still outselling the xbox but at its current price but they are losing potential sales all the time because of the price. The article is tru...
the xbox and gamecube live on in there next gen successors meaning theyll last alot longer than the ps2 with the gimped ps3 hardware. Oh well.
